EU Startup Services, in partnership with Rhoomai and Merkspace, hosted a workshop in Tel Aviv on Wednesday 1st of November on “Raising funds without losing equity – the H2020 SME grants”. Our COO, Nicholas Zylberglajt and our Director Louis Papaemmanuel presented the opportunities offered by the H2020’s SME Instrument, outlining the new changes introduced in the 2018-2019 work programme.
Our first special guest was Mr. Shy Mindel, the Co-Founder of the Israeli SME Mobius Protection Systems, which recently got funded by the SME Instrument with over 2.48 Million Euros, with our help.
Mr Assaf Mendelson, the Founder and Managing Partner of Rhoomai, EU Startup Service’s partner in Israel, also spoke at the workshop sharing over 20 years of experience in the technology and startup world.
Ms. Ruth Friedel, R&D Officer in charge of SME & Access to Finance at the Israel Innovation Authority, the prestigious agency that promotes the participation of Israeli entities in R&D ventures within the European Research Area.
Ms. Sivan Wieser, Community Manager at Merkspace, one of the most popular coworking spaces in Tel Aviv.
More than 80 people registered for this workshop, most of them founders of startups coming from a wide range of domains: IoT, AgriTech, AI, Deeptech, etc. We were pleasantly surprised that most participants were aware of Horizon 2020 but have never applied to the SME Instrument.
The interest received from the Israeli startup ecosystem was very high and we would like to thank Rhoomai in particular and the participants for the warm welcome.
