Kumardev is a highly regarded Young Innovation leader, top-tier ICT industry professional, European Commission appointed expert and New York Times published opinion leader, all by the age of 35.
Kumardev has been involved in the design and setting up of the Horizon 2020 SME instrument over the last three years and who as a European commission appointed independent expert, has evaluated proposals for the European Commission. Mr. Chatterjee has extensive competences as an experienced ICT expert, industry professional and innovator and entrepreneur himself. Mr. Chatterjee has a long history of involvement in EU policy, grants, proposals, and projects and as such is seen as leading expert in the field.
Kumardev’s vision, opinions and views have been published by the New York Times, World Economic Forum, European Commission, European Business Summit, Microsoft and leading tech media across Europe. Kumardev is one of the 50 leading digital minds around the world who have been invited to contribute to the European Commission’s “Digital Minds for a New Europe”, alongside Eric Schmidt of Google. Kumardev is an Advisory Board member of the Journal of Innovation Management with Henry Chesbrough. In recognition of his Innovation leadership and the high-impact achievements of EYIF, the Intel and the European Commission have awarded Kumardev as an Innovation Luminary – Young Innovation Champion. Kumardev is both the youngest-ever recipient of this award and the first-ever Young Innovation Champion. Kumardev has been engaged in both the entrepreneurial world from the age of 14 when he started his first social business, and the ICT industry from the age of 19, when he started his first for-profit company as well as his corporate ICT career. He has broad experience in both public, private and non-profit sectors, as well as expertise in ICT Strategy, Innovation and Programmes in multiple industry domains over 15+ years, internationally.
Kumardev leads EYIF’s broad community of young innovators, entrepreneurs, startups and SMEs and led Europe’s first-ever delegation of Young Innovators on a joint US State Department-EYIF program, the InnotourUSA. Kumardev is responsible for EYIF’s key stakeholder relationships with the European Commission, US State Department, World Economic Forum, European Investment Fund, and Fortune 500 companies. He represents EYIF on various Expert Groups and Stakeholder Committees of the European Commission in the areas of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and ICT.
Kumardev in his role as a European Commission appointed independent expert has evaluated more than €86 Million EUR of grant proposals since 2013. He has evaluated across multiple topics and calls for both FP7 and H2020 framework programmes. He is also a Eurostars Technical Expert. He holds a MSc. in Computer Science, as a British Chevening Science Scholar.
Nicholas was born in Montevideo, Uruguay from a French father and an Uruguayan mother in 1983. He grew up in Montevideo and at the age of 18 moved to France to study at the famous French University “Sciences Po” in Paris where he got a Bachelor in Latin American Studies at and a Masters in International Relations and Conflict Resolution.
Nicholas has been living in Brussels since September 2006 where, as most of the newly arrived people in Brussels, he arrived to spend six months for an internship. He stayed at the French Permanent Representation to the EU until 2009 when he moved to the European Parliament to become the political advisor to the French MEP, Damien Abad. In July 2011, he joined the EPP Group to become the first ever Social Media Coordinator of the largest political group in the European Parliament.
Nicholas is a co-founder and Vice-President of EYIF and EUSS. He believes that Europe has a strong potential in its Youth, who needs to be inspired again and feel confident in the opportunities the future can bring to them. Nicholas likes traveling, meeting new people, football and Opera. He has a certain tendency to prefer warm weather but has found in Brussels a good compromise for the rest.

Moritz Förster – Country Manager, Germany
Moritz Förster has been writing for nationwide German newspapers and magazins as a free journalist. As a consultant for public relations he had been working with leading real estate companies. 2013 he co-founded the Startup Lastminute-Dealz being responsible for communication. Accomplishing a Master in European Studies he gained an insight of how European citizens benefit from a united continent.
Alessandra Maffettone – Operations Manager
Born in Italy to an Italian father and Canadian mother, she feels fortunate to have grown up in a multicultural environment, having studied at an International school since she was 3. Alessandra holds a Law Degree from Italy and an MSc in Gender, Development and Globalisation from the London School of Economics. She is a native Italian speaker, fluent in English and French and has a good command of Spanish.
She has worked in both the private sector in Italy and London and the European Commission in Brussels, in DG ECHO. She has participated in numerous European and International projects and conferences, always striving for youth’s voice to be heard. She loves travelling, horse-back riding, good food and wine (she is very Italian in this aspect). She is getting used to the Belgian weather, although it will take some time.
Antonella Rivieccio – Junior Proposal Writer
Antonella is our new Junior Proposal Writer, joining the EUSS team in October 2016. Her course of studies has been focused on international policies and, over time, she specialized in European policies and, particularly, in allocation of EU direct and indirect funds. In addition to a Master’s Degree in Diplomatic and International Sciences and a Master in Local and International Development Management, she attended a specialization course in Euro- project Management in order to acquire more knowledge about European funding programmes.
She has worked for various organizations (non-profits, public institutions) and SMEs assisting them in evaluating project ideas and writing project proposals within EU calls.
Her experience in Brussels started in 2014 with an internship at the Brussels’ liaison office of the Campania region.
Damià Garcia Priu – Country Manager, Barcelona
Damià has a native Entrepreneurial instinct. He graduated both in Psychology (Cognitive Science) and in Computer Science at the Universitat de Barcelona, then he did an Artificial Intelligence stage at the MIT. Later on accomplished an MBA and a PDG degree at IESE Business School of Barcelona.
